Girlhood can mean anything. Sure, it can mean your childhood memories of playing all day outside with your neighbors. It can mean playing out intricate family dramas with your Calico Critters. It can mean hours spent listening to sad music and staring out your window pretending you're in a music video. It can mean eating way too much candy with your friends at a sleepover and filming each other lip-synching to pop songs. It can mean scribbling bad poetry in your journal, mortified about the prospect of anyone reading it but also secretly knowing it will be donated to a museum collection after your passing. 

Anyone can experience girlhood, and we all have different experiences of it. The internet can also be a huge part of girlhood. It is where we share ideas, aesthetics, musings, and culture. The hours I would spend curating my various Tumblr blogs were a huge part of my girlhood.
